Changing Lives Through Literacy

About Us

The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Coconino County is to increase the basic English language and literacy skills of teens and adults in order to improve the quality of personal, economic and community life for all. Our services are delivered by professionally trained volunteers in the community and at our facility,The Literacy Center, a resource for the study of lifelong literacy learning.

We are a private non-profit organization and a participating agency of the United Way of Northern Arizona. We are also an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy America, the nation's oldest and largest volunteer literacy organization.

"A VOLUNTEER is a person who is a light to others, giving witness in a mixed-up age, doing well and willingly the tasks at hand- namely, being aware of another's needs and doing something about it." ~ Unknown
